Derthona Display
Built from the visual heritage of Tortona and reinterpreted for a contemporary basketball identity, this bespoke display typeface is a core asset of the brand identity created in collaboration with Andrea Perato. It gives Derthona Basket a unique and distinctive voice that embodies the club’s spirit.
An alternate glyph set with more pronounced curves, echoing both the architecture of Pier Luigi Nervi and the trajectories of the ball in play, can be activated to highlight key words and quotations.
To develop the typeface, we visited Tortona to gather archive images of the team and research the city’s landmarks and history, an essential foundation for shaping the letterforms.
